We made strides in Poland, securing new projects and agreements with clients, opening up significant business opportunities.
We continued to grow with a new office in Portugal, aiming to attract talent from across the Minho River. Additionally, we established a similar ecosystem to Spain, collaborating with universities in northern Portugal.
For years, we relied on one major client and several smaller ones. From this year, we expanded both the number and size of our clients. New additions include Nowo, Adamo, Lyntia, Gigas, Eurona, and Rede Aberta, alongside long-standing clients like Vodafone, R, and MásMóvil.
After multiple 5G-related initiatives, we launched an IoT network operator as a foundation for developing a future virtual private network management system on 5G.
Surprisingly, Optare, a team of telecom and IT professionals, won the Vigo intercompany Football7 league. However, we couldn’t retain our title in the international final in Porto.
To continue growing and attract talent, we opened a workspace in Ourense, allowing us to integrate new candidates from the neighboring province.
We finally secured a project with Telefónica, providing the operator with the necessary data to improve customer satisfaction by combining our expertise in Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS) analysis with our Predictive Analytics capabilities (Augura).
We were called to assist with portability tests when no one knew them. Today, they are the fourth-largest operator in Spain, and we are proud to have supported their success.
At the Open World event in San Francisco, Oracle recognized us as specialists in OSM. This orchestration platform for OSS/BSS systems allowed us to expand to Mexico and other countries, including Pakistan.
Our Predictive Analytics solution was born out of a project for R-cable to reduce churn, identifying dissatisfied customers before they unsubscribed.
On October 24, Optare Solutions México was established. Our work there had started the previous year with Oracle, participating in a project for SKY Television, a client we still work with.
We introduced Business Units: ADM (Development and Maintenance), Projects, and Consulting & Training, replacing “Operations.” The following year, they were restructured into Solutions and Integration (S&I), Order Management (OM), and Network Applications (Naps). This structure lasted until 2019, when it was replaced by Operations and Business Development.
This year, we signed a contract with IBM for the Development (AD) and Maintenance (AM) of Vodafone’s fixed-line services. Despite many challenges, the contract remains active to this day.
Gartner the world leader in advisory, research, and consulting services, recognized us as a “Cool Vendor in Telecom Management Systems” for “offering solutions and technologies that are innovative, impactful, and transformative for businesses.”
This year, the purchase of the office was finalized, though we didn’t fully relocate until Easter of 2011.
We finally achieved €1 million in annual revenue. Projects like PIME AMLT, Manhattan, OMVR for R, and WLI Migration helped us reach this milestone.
Morocco was our first international destination, followed by over 20 others, including Sweden, Russia, Pakistan, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and most notably, Mexico.
After a few years of taking on any software development project, including web design, we decided to focus exclusively on the telecommunications operator sector.
After working in Comunitel’s storage room and then an office on Camelias Street, our next stop was Freixo Road, surrounded by workshops and scrapyards.
We launched our first R&D projects, which have allowed us to stay at the forefront and continually propose innovative solutions to our clients. Projects like Vising, Magda, Batts, Tice, and Alchemy were just the beginning.
This year, we started our first project on this orchestration platform, which was later acquired by Oracle.
On February 14, 2002, we officially began our journey with several projects for Comunitel (now Vodafone). However, our origins date back a few years earlier at the Telecom School of Vigo.
