6GENABLERS-AI
Design and Prototype of 6G Enablers Based on Artificial Intelligence
6GENABLERS-AI
The increasing demand for high-performance, low-latency communication, and the growing volume of data generated in next-generation access networks make AI algorithms essential for adapting to the evolving requirements of 5G/6G networks.
The 6GENABLERS – AI for 6G: Ultra Automation and Optimization project focuses on integrating high-precision telemetry technologies and AI learning algorithms into 6G networks.
Main Objective: The main objective of the project is to design and develop prototypes of advanced 5G and 6G architectures that utilize continuous and adaptive machine learning algorithms within Edge-Cloud computing environments. These prototypes leverage high-precision telemetry to enable the management and optimization of distributed computational and radio resources.
Project Stages: The execution of the project has been carried out over several stages throughout 2023 and 2024, including:
- Research on telemetry systems in 5G/6G networks, adaptive and incremental AI learning technologies, and distributed data management methods to support AI algorithms.
- Development of the AI and telemetry components that form the experimental prototype.
- Application validation for an immersive virtual reality or holo-conference use case that enables self-optimization in the operations of an Edge-Cloud environment with 5G/6G connectivity.
Funding and Collaboration: The 6GENABLERS – AI for 6G project is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and the European Union – NextGenerationEU (aid file number TSI-063000-2021-10).Optare Solutions has been awarded a service contract (contract file number 2023040500, Lots 1 and 3) for the execution of this project, which is coordinated by the Fundació Privada i2CAT, Internet i Innovació Digital a Catalunya, in collaboration with other entities.
