Innovation Projects
SAETA
Research on intelligent, energy-efficient, transparent glazing systems with access to mobile technologies.
SAETA
SAETA is a project with file number MIG-2024189 aimed at transforming the energy efficiency and connectivity of buildings through the development of advanced glazing systems. By applying photonic technologies (FSS) and intelligent surfaces (RIS), it seeks to improve thermal insulation without compromising mobile coverage and indoor Wi-Fi connectivity.
Main Objective
To develop an energy-efficient and highly transparent glazing system that also enhances wireless connectivity in buildings, solving the current issue of electromagnetic shielding caused by low-emissivity glass.
Participants
- Ariño Duglass (Coordinator)
- Optare Solutions
- Zepren Solutions
- Gsertel
- Worldsensin
Notable role of Optare Solutions
Optare leads the validation of the impact of the new glazing on wireless communications (5G, 6G, and Wi-Fi), and works on the integration of these technologies into indoor private networks. Its goal is to enrich its technological offering with innovative solutions in connectivity, cybersecurity, and signal management in the built environment.
Project Duration
September 2024 – December 2025
Funding
Project subsidized under the missions of sustainability, energy efficiency, and digitalization of the built environment.
