Test Environments for Connected Mobility

PERTE RENAULT GROUP - Test Environments for Connected Mobility

This project focuses on verification and validation processes associated with Connected, Intelligent, Safe, Inclusive, and Collaborative Mobility (CISICM), extending beyond the individual vehicle. The primary goal is to research new technologies and functionalities for electric and connected vehicles, as well as to devise new environments, procedures, and testing protocols to establish the necessary tests to realize this new CISICM paradigm.

The project partners are: CTAG (Technological Research and Development Center of the Automotive Industry), TRADIA (a subsidiary of the Cellnex Group), IDIADA, EUROCYBCAR, TECNIVIAL, Optare Solutions, Fivecomm, CENTRO ZARAGOZA, and the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Barcelona. RENAULT ESPAÑA, S.A., and Fundación ONCE are also contributing in a consultative capacity.

Specific Objectives:

  • Research the medium to long-term technological evolution to identify use cases and future scenarios, especially in the context of V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything).
  • Develop a general technological architecture to create realistic test environments in each laboratory.
  • Define and develop standardized verification procedures for V2X technology, including the configuration parameters of the technological environment and synchronized data recording.
  • Define test methods and protocols to verify and validate CISICM systems and functionalities, considering all ecosystem elements, from connected vehicles to cloud computing and cybersecurity.
  • Conduct specific work in three concrete laboratories (Atlantrack, IDIADA, and Zona Franca Barcelona) to define and specify test environments, adapt the overall technological architecture, and generate specific know-how about the services within each laboratory’s scope.
  • Position the laboratory network as an international benchmark for the verification and validation tests of different components and the entire CISICM ecosystem value chain.

The tasks corresponding to this primary project focus on researching future connectivity technologies and their evolution, with the aim of devising new services for the development, validation, and verification of CISICM systems. The goal is to acquire the necessary know-how to offer differential services that will impact the operational processes of the participating entities.
